Did you guess I am now in the state of Colorado?
I had a great time visiting this state!!
I traveled down to Boulder and saw lots of wide open space! The fresh air was wonderful!
I then visited Wild Buffalo Bill Cody's grave in Golden, Colorado. Here is some information I learned about Buffalo Bill--he got his name in 1867 after hunting buffalo to feed the construction crews of the Kansas Pacific Railroad. By his own count, he killed 4,280 head of buffalo in seventeen months! Later he began his own Wild West shows.
You can learn more about Buffalo Bill by visiting here and here.
I also got to visit a gold mine (unfortunately, I didn't find any gold)!
I loved looking at the red sandstone rocks at the Garden of the Gods! (Colorado got its name from these rocks, it's Spanish for "color red")
Here is a little movie I made showing some more of the other great things I saw on my trip to Colorado.
Are you ready to head west? We won't be going over any oceans...yet...but we will be able to see the ocean at my next destination!
