June 10

Time to eat!

Koreans use a lot of garlic in their cooking.  Here is a whole truck filled with garlic that is being delivered to the market place!

This is a "typical" Korean meal
And this is one of the families I was able to share a meal with!

On the Lunar New Year Korean families have a special meal

A nice family took me out to a restaurant...the food was cooked right in front of us...

(I did NOT eat the octopus!)

Well, if you don't think you could eat the cooked octopus, how about
DRIED SQUID!? Yum, yum!

It was very fun tasting some new foods.  I especially liked dweji bulgogi (불고기) which is thinly sliced or shredded pork marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, green onions and black pepper, cooked on a grill (sometimes at the table). Bulgogi literally means "fire meat".
